| Purpose:
Enalapril is an
angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It helps to relax blood vessels, thus lowering blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide
is a thiazide diurectic (water
pill). It helps lower your blood
pressure and decrease swelling by
increasing the amount of salt and
water you lose in your urine.

Treating high blood pressure, heart failure, and other heart problems. It may be used alone or with other prescription drugs. |

| Common Side
Effects: A
small percent of people experience: diarrhea, dizziness or light headedness when sitting up or standing; headache, nausea, persistent dry cough, tiredness, and vomiting. |

| Additional Notes:
Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur: severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); chest pain; hoarseness; infection (fever, sore throat); irregular or slow heartbeat; unusual stomach pain; and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
This drug may cause dizziness or light headedness. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Enalapril may cause you to sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react
to this drug . Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.
Do not breast
feed while taking this drug without
consulting with your doctor. |
