Purpose:
Furosemide is used to treat high blood
pressure and/or water retention associated with congestive heart failure, liver disease, and kidney disease.
The drugs is a loop diuretics that make the kidneys eliminate larger amounts of electrolytes and water than normal. Loop diuretics are useful for treating many conditions in which salt and water retention are a problem.

Common Side
Effects: A
small percent of people experience: dizziness, blurred vision, dehydration, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal

Additional Medicine Notes:
This medication may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Furosemide. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.
